Weekly QA Plan (Agenda) That Certyn Proposes and You Approve

Certyn plans the week's runs from your results and open issues, you edit and approve it, or let it plan and run every week on its own.

For QA leads who want a plan for the week that they can check before any run starts.

Your setup

  • A Certyn project with suites, some run history and open issues.
  • Maybe a fixed release day each week.
  • You want to see the plan first, then decide what runs and when.

Say this to Certyn

Plan our QA week. Show me the agenda before anything runs.

What Certyn does

  1. Reads last week's agenda and the evidence: failed runs, flaky tests, suites, open issues, coverage, metrics and the inbox.
  2. Proposes the agenda (app.agenda.create): about 3 to 5 items for a quiet project, up to 15 for a busy one. Each item is a suite run, an exploratory run with a goal, or a retest of an issue, with an area, a day and time, and a note on why. It also says what the week does not cover.
  3. Changes it when you ask, for example "move the checkout regression to Thursday" or "drop the retest" (app.agenda.update).
  4. Approves it only when you say so. You can also click Approve plan on the Agenda page. Approved items run at their times. Each one is a real run and uses plan time.
  5. To plan every week, say: "Plan our week every Monday at 9:00 Berlin time and run it without asking me." Certyn asks you to approve the settings change (app.agenda.settings.set: on or off, auto-approve, day, hour, time zone).

What you get

  • The Agenda page (shown on the "All environments" view): items, area, time and status. A dot shows when a plan waits for you. With no plan yet, Plan my week asks for one.
  • Each item links to its run and its issues.
  • When the week ends, a short wrap-up: what was planned, what ran, what was found.

Limits

  • Weekly plans are approved on creation by default, so they run without a click. Turn auto-approve off to approve each week yourself. A plan you ask for in the chat always waits for your approval.
  • If you finished the setup wizard, weekly planning is already on, with auto-approve.
  • A plan that nobody approves before its week ends expires. Its items never run.
  • One plan per week: a new plan for the same week replaces the old one and cancels its items that did not run yet.
  • Certyn plans the current week, Monday to Sunday. Keep the weekly day early in the week. The default is Monday 08:00, in UTC when no time zone is set.
  • A project with few runs gets a short plan.
