Testing depth sets how hard Certyn works on a run. Deeper levels use a stronger model, find more on complex apps, and use your plan's QA hours faster.
| Level | What Certyn does | Best for | Hours |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | A fast model for every step: planning, testing, and review | Most apps, test cases, and quick checks | 1× |
| Deep | A stronger model to plan the run and judge what it finds | Complex apps with many flows, roles, or settings | 3× |
| Expert | The stronger model for every step | Security testing and your most important flows | 5× |
An hour of a Deep run uses 3 hours of your plan; an hour of an Expert run uses 5.
Setting it
Open Project settings → Testing depth. Depth is set per project. You can pick:
- Recommended: Standard when Certyn runs your test cases, Deep when it explores your app on its own, Expert for security testing.
- One level for everything: Standard, Deep, or Expert.
- Customize by task: a level for each kind of work.
The kinds of work are:
| Task | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Test cases | Running saved test cases and their retests |
| Focused checks | A single flow, a bug retest, a quick question |
| Broad exploration | Full sweeps of your app |
| Security testing | Penetration tests and API security tests |
A task you ask for in your own words starts as a focused check. If Certyn plans a broad run for it, the run moves up to your broad exploration level.
