A Machine is a browser (with a shell) that Certyn uses from the chat while you watch. You see its screen live, and you can click and type on it yourself.
Why use one
- Watch Certyn work: see each page it opens and each step it takes.
- Step in: when a step needs a person (a 2FA code, a captcha, an SSO sign-in), Certyn hands it to you. You do it on the Machine's screen, and Certyn carries on.
- Sign in safely: the Machine starts with your app and your test account, so Certyn can sign in without seeing the password.
Starting a Machine
In the chat box, open the Machine picker and start one:
- Certyn cloud: run by Certyn.
- Your own runner: on a self-hosted runner, for apps on a private network.
The picker shows each Machine's state (starting, connecting, ready, stopping). Pick one to use it in the chat, or choose Don't use it in this chat. Stop it from the same menu when you are done.
Usage
A Machine uses your plan's time at real time while it runs. It does not start when no time is left.
